Monday-Friday 4:00-4:45 p.m.
Minimum age is 5 years old
Designed for
the novice level younger swimmer. The emphasis is on developing basic movement literacy and fundamental skills. Basic concepts of competitive swimming are introduced in a positive, fun and structured learning environment. The swimmer must successfully complete multiple lengths of Freestyle or Backstroke unassisted and without stopping. Knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly are recommended but not required. Introduction to interval training and flip turns. Local USA meets are encouraged but not required. Outside activities are permitted.
Equipment needed: mesh bag,
fins, extra goggles and swim cap, and kick board. |

SILVER
Monday-Friday 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Minimum age is 7 years old
Designed for the younger competitive swimmer who has knowledge of all 4 strokes and turns. Legal strokes is the primary objective along with all the basic movement literacy, and fundamental swimming skills, Swimming is taught in a fun positive manner, and love for the sport is emphasized.
Local USA Swimming meets are encouraged but not
required.
Equipment needed: mesh bag,
fins, kick board, extra goggles and swim cap, and
small pull-buoy. |

PRE-GOLD
Monday &
Wednesday 4:45-6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 4:45-5:45 p.m.
Minimum age is 9 years old
Swimmers in this group can
legally compete in all 4 strokes, individual medley,
and turns. Training will focus on the mastery of all
4 strokes, racing starts, turns, finishes, and
interval training. Swimmers will be introduced to
proper athlete nutrition, racing strategies for
various distances and events, strength conditioning,
flexibility and goal setting.
A fun, competitive team
atmosphere along with USA will be strongly
encouraged but not required. Outside activities are
permitted. Equipment
needed: mesh bag, fins, kick board, pull-buoy, water
bottle, extra goggles and swim cap, and small
paddles. |

GOLD
Monday & Wednesday 5:15-7:00 p.m., Dry-land
5:15-6:00/ Swim 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Minimum age is 10 years old
Swimmers in this group are
preparing to train to compete at Gulf Champs and
TAGS. Stroke technique and proper mechanics are
maintained, while emphasis is placed on increasing
training volume and intensity. Swimmers will
continue to improve proper athlete nutrition, racing
strategies for various distances and events, heart
rate training, strength conditioning, flexibility,
goal setting and introduced to mental preparation
techniques.
USA meets and 90% monthly
attendance are strongly encouraged but not required.
Outside activities are permitted.

pull-buoy, medium paddles, sneakers, pilates mat,
extra goggles and swim cap, and water bottle. |

PLATINUM
Monday & Wednesday 5:15-7:00 p.m., Dry-land
5:15-6:00/ Swim 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Friday 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Minimum age 12 years old
This group represents the
highest level of training at SSAN. The focus is on
all local level meets, TAGS, and Senior meets while
also preparing for UIL Championship level meets
representing their respective high schools. Swimmers
will continue to be instructed on proper athlete
nutrition, racing strategies for various distances
and events, heart rate training, strength
conditioning, flexibility, goal setting, and mental
preparation techniques.
USA meets and 90% monthly
attendance are strongly encouraged but not required.
Outside activities are permitted.
